  • Rock Salt – 20 kg Bag
Road salt works by lowering the freezing point of water - a process termed “freezing point depression”. In a nutshell, the salt breaks into its component ions in a small amount of liquid water. The added particles make it more difficult for the water to freeze into ice, lowering the freezing point of the water. So, for road salt to work, there needs to be a tiny bit of liquid water. This is part of the reason why road salt is not effective in extremely cold weather when water would freeze too easily. Road salt is used to control snow and ice. As the temperature drops, salt's effectiveness slows to the point that when you get down near -10 degrees (C) and below, salt barely works.
  • Bulk Salt - Rock Salt
Rock salt is the most cost-effective product available for removing snow and ice. It’s easy to use, store and apply, and its effectiveness at keeping parking lots and sidewalks clear makes it the cornerstone in most snow removal programs. It can be used alone or with an additive, depending upon weather conditions.
  • Bulk Salt - Premium Treated Salt
When temperatures are below -10 degrees (C), road salt is mixed with catalysts in order for the salt to brine and to work effectively. Using liquid to "pre-wet" conventional solid de-icers also reduces bounce, scatter, and environmental emissions, while increasing performance and service levels. Using the power of magnesium chloride, liquids are used by leading salt companies to significantly improve the working temperature of salt and accelerate the brining process for faster melting. Treated salt is coloured blue to aid in product distribution when applying. This premium product will be effective up to -21 degrees (C) and will have longer lasting results than un-treated road salt. Better for the environment – Our magnesium chloride is approved for organic production as a crop fertilizer and soil amendment by OMRI in the US and Canada. Treated salt is twice as effective as salt, and 80% less corrosive. Bulk salt is sold by the yard. Increments of 1/2 yards only.
  • Sand/Salt Mix – Bulk
Great for traction during freezing rain and on gravel lots. Sand/salt mix is sold by the yard. Increments of 1/2 yards only. Straight sand is also available (special order only).

  • What is the difference between salt brine and your Ultra1000 Liquid?
Salt Brine is a specific ratio/mixture of salt mixed with water. Benefits are as follows: It costs less than bulk road salt or other liquid de-icers. It reduces the use of salt on sites. Disadvantages are as follows: If your specific ratio is not met, you risk creating an ice rink on surfaces or having no effect at all. Salt brine still washes into rivers, seeps into the ground, and contaminates the water supply. When salt brine is applied at a 23.3% concentration, it will freeze (without any additional dilution) at about -21° C. ProMelt Ultra1000 is a high-performance de-icing liquid made from a refined corn carbohydrate derivative blended with magnesium chloride. Benefits are as follows: It’s a versatile liquid that can be used to anti-ice, de-ice and pre-wet. It has superior anti-bonding properties. It reduces bounce, scatter, and salt application rates which saves time, labour, fuel and materials. It meets the stringent requirements of the Clear Roads QPL for corrosion, toxicity, and performance. Its strong residual effect provides lasting performance. It eliminates the use of salt on sites. The freezing point of ProMelt Ultra 1000 is -65° C It’s better for the environment – Our magnesium chloride is approved for organic production as a crop fertilizer and soil amendment by OMRI in the US and Canada Disadvantages are as follows: It’s costlier than salt brine.
